When your burning the candle for the first time, it must stay lit for 2-3 hours. This will not only maximize the fragrance throw, but also help avoid tunneling. Always cut the wick by 1cm after each use once cooled.

When candle is not in use always place lid back on candle (completely cooled only) this will prevent dust/dirt going on top as this may effect performance. 

This white coating is called frosting and it is the natural wax re crystallising and trying to return to its natural state.  Frosting is a perfectly natural effect of using soy wax.

Frosting does not affect the performance of your candle.
